How guests book

How do guests book?

Your way. Give us a link for each booking site you use and each gets its own Book button. Or guests send a booking request on your own site, with their dates and party size, and you reply from your inbox. You can offer both.

Do you take a fee or commission on bookings?

No. We never touch your bookings. You pay for the build once, then a monthly fee for hosting and upkeep.

Do I need to be on a booking site?

No. If you take bookings yourself, guests can send a request on your site. If you are on one or more booking sites, link to them all.

Can my site take payments?

No. Your site sends guests to the booking sites you use, or sends you their booking request. Payment happens wherever the booking is made.

Your build

What do I need to give you?

Four essentials: how guests book, your photos, who the house is perfect for, and your welcome message. The rest is optional, and we write anything you skip. See the full list, or try the brief before you pay.

How long does it take?

We send a private preview 5 working days after your brief is ready. One round of changes is included, and the revised preview follows within 3 working days.

Who writes the guide?

We do, from your favourites and our own research. We check opening hours before launch and each season after, and mark anything we couldn't confirm so guests check before they go.

Can I leave out features I don't want?

Yes. Your brief has a step where you switch off anything in your package you don't want. We leave it out and we don't ask you about it. Switching a feature off doesn't change the price.

What if I don't finish the brief?

Your build starts once the four essentials are in and we have checked them. We send a reminder if it's still waiting after a day, and again after three.

Is there a refund?

In full until we email you "Your build has started". After that, only where the law gives you a right to one. The full terms are here.

What about door codes and wifi?

They never go on the site. The Guests page tells guests they come in your welcome message before they arrive.

After your site goes live

What does hosting cover?

The site, your question and booking request form, a check of opening hours each season, and small edits to facts already on the site. It starts when your site goes live and is billed each month in the currency of the country your property is in. You can cancel any month.

Do I need my own domain?

No. Your site can go live on an address we provide. If you own a domain, or want one, we point it at the site. You register and keep the domain in your own name.

Can I change things after it goes live?

Yes. Small edits are part of hosting: a new restaurant, a changed rule, a new photo. Larger additions, such as a new page, we quote for.

Do you post the social plan for me?

No. We write and design the plan and you post it. We don't reply to comments, run ads or promise bookings.

Your cards for the house

Are the cards included?

Yes. Every package includes print-ready artwork for a business card and two A5 cards, one for the bedside and one for the kitchen. Tick "Make my print cards" in your brief and we design them once your site is approved, so the QR code carries its final address.

Can I change the card design?

Guide and Signature include one round of changes: reply to the proof with your list. Showcase cards come in our standard design. Each further round of changes is . We fix our own mistakes at no charge.

Do you print the cards?

No. We send print-ready files with 3 mm bleed, and you print them wherever you like.

Refer a friend

How does refer a friend work?

Anyone can refer a host. When they name you in their brief, their site goes live and they have made their second hosting payment, they get a free month of hosting. You get a free month too if you host a site with us, or a gift card if you don't. How refer a friend works.
